The war zone is the land separated from the inner realm by a Great Portal where all three realms do battle which involves group battles in the middle of nowhere, wars in forts and castles and ordinary 1 on 1 Player vs. Player combat. All 3 realms have some territory which has 2 forts and a castle and 4 bridges connected to it leading to other realms. There is also an island in the middle of the war zone connected to no bridges which currently serves an unknown purpose, although it contains teleports to the gates of all 3 realms as well as a monument.
The Regnum Online World Map measures about 6km in each direction, and contains a central landmass surrounded by ocean. The landmass is split into the 3 realms, with the cold realm of Alsius occupying the northwest, the desert realm Ignis in the northeast, and the forest realm Syrtis in the south. Each realm contains 3 regions: the Initiation Zone, the Inner Realm and the War Zone.

Forms of PvP
Soul Monger is a usually once-a-day spawn based on the overall number of kills in the realms combined, and spawns next to the War Island(small center island) and reachable by the closest locations per realm by boat.
Fort Wars
Each realm has 2 forts and 1 castle. The realm of Alsius has Imperia castle, Aggersborg fort and Trelleborg fort. Syrtis has Eferias castle, Herbred fort and Algaros fort. Ignis has Shaanarid castle, Samal fort and Menirah fort. The forts which see the most action are Aggersborg, Herbred and Samal.

A fort war starts when a realm attacks a fort owned by an opposing realm. There are 2 guards at the door and 2 archer guards. The door has a high amount of health and requires at least 2 people attacking it to break. Once the door is broken, the 2 flag guards attack the enemy players. When everyone inside is killed, the attackers may double click the flag and the process of capturing the fort will begin. Every fort has a tower which some survivors may enter to attempt to escape attack from enemy players or make a last stand. Ranged classes may also stand on the fort wall for an easy way to escape and to avoid damage from enemy warriors.
The Dragon Wish instances are in the middle of the lower right hand corner in a specifically undisclosed location.

Hunting
Carnival Island is on the far left of the map sitting alone, and only available in tandem with the Carnival celebrations of late February to early March.
Hunting is when someone enters the territory of another realm and finds enemies to kill, usually those who are trying to level up. Hunters, obviously, excel at this due to their abilities to track for enemies as well as turn invisible.

PvP
Initiation Zone
PvP combat involving only 2 players of opposing realms are rare, although some realms like to host PvP events. In these events, nobody is expected to interfere with any PvP. To challenge someone of an enemy realm to a PvP, you usually walk in front of them and perform the 'Challenge' action in the window brought up by pressing N. The enemy player accepts by performing a reverence. The two players then put around 40 - 50 meters between them and the fight begins.

The Initiation Zones all have 2 villages, and they are separated from the Inner Realm by some sort of portal with an NPC teleporter at each side.

NOTE: This kind of event is not supported by the game itself and is just a player-established convention, pre-arranged 1v1 fights and their rules may vary.

Death
When a player is killed by another player in the war zone, the victor gains a certain amount of Regnum Points (RP) depending on level. Level 50s give 18 RP. If it is a group kill, RP is distributed depending on who contributed most to the kill. Otherwise, dying from an enemy player has no penalties. Upon death, a player gets the option of resurrecting at their selected save altar or just behind their realm's Great Portal.

Initiation Zone[edit | edit source]

The Initiation Zone is where new players are brought to upon character creation. These areas are entirely safe from enemy realms, and simply teach new players the basics of the game while they level their characters to level 10. The Initiation Zones all have 2 villages, and they are separated from the Inner Realm by some sort of portal with an NPC teleporter at each side.

Inner realm[edit | edit source]

The Inner Realm is the main "safe zone" of each realm. Most of the game's PvE content centers in this area, preparing players before they enter the War Zone. Each realm has a great wall that separates the War Zone from the Inner Realm. This wall normally keeps players safe from enemies, though through invasions, enemy players can sometimes break down the gates of each wall and raid the Inner Realm. In such cases, it may be best for lower level players to retreat into the heavily-guarded towns and cities.

War Zone[edit | edit source]

The central area of the Regnum world is the War Zone. This is where the game's Realm versus Realm mechanic takes place. Terrain is not controlled by any realm completely, so players of all realms battle freely in this open zone. The territory is divided by three rivers, and connected with six bridges. More here at The War Zone. Learning the War Zone

War Island[edit | edit source]

Surrounded by the Lake of the Ancients, this centralized island is a hub of activity for all realms, reachable by the boats highlighted in each realm's War Zone. The Soul Monger, Hall of Fame, and teleporter, Adanor, for the Christmas event is located here.
