Alsius
The dwarves arrived from the north, looking for no conflict but with nature itself. A hard ground to dig and a port for trading is all they wanted. But a confusing event during the war between the elves and the igneos ended the lives of many dwarves including an important dwarf leader. Burying the leader caused hatred to grow in those who survived and in old allies such as the utghars. The dwarves now make a stand for their claim to the land that holds the powerful and exotic crystals that can bring wealth and power beyond imagination.
The cold and icy realm of Alsius lies in the north-western part of the world. Alsius is made up mostly of snowy mountains and frozen terrain. It is inhabited by the dwarves, nordos and utghars. The people of Alsius are referred to as Alsirians.
The dwarves had originally lived in a land beyond the northern seas, but they were forced to escape their native home when a mythical snake beast appeared. Unable to fight the beast, the dwarves fled south in the hope of starting a new life. Immediately, they encountered the nordo human tribe, and engaged in a brief war with them. However, shortly after, they realized that they had similar goals and forged a strong alliance. Afterwards, they met the utghars, who joined the alliance, thus forming the Alsirian Empire. The Alsirians built Montsognir City and fortified their position in the nearby regions. Trade and smelting industries flourished, and the Alsirian people thrived. Then the Elven War began, and things started to change for the worse. At first, Alsius decided it would not take part in the elven affair, they were neutral and not interested in getting involved in a war. Yet as the war waged on, it escalated into a broader conflict, bringing the fight into Alsirian lands. Villages and markets soon became battlegrounds, everyday life became harder. This matter greatly worried the emperor, and so he decided that it was time to intervene. Together with his royal guard, he ventured into the war zone, hoping to find an elven representative to talk to. Unfortunately, he and his company were caught in a crossfire in the process, and were all slain. The emperors death marked a new chapter in the lives of the Alsirians, it was finally time to take matters into their own hands.
Reasons for War
Following the death of the emperor, Alsirians decided that they would have to fight a war after all. The people of Alsius now live with rage and indignation for being dragged into a war that was not supposed to concern them. They joined the war in order to stop their enemies from ravaging their lands and people. The war effort is also fueled by their desire for expansion of their Empire. They believe that upon conquering the elves, they will be able to make better use of their lands.
