Equipment has a durability score that gradually decreases as a player fights. Both by attacking (weapons), or getting hit (armor).  Equipment must be repaired at a merchant, or with a repair hammer (Premium Content), before the durability score reaches zero. When the durability of an item reaches zero, the item is unequipped and placed in the user's inventory. The item cannot be re-equipped until it is repaired. Attempting to equip a broken item will yield the message "This item is broken, you cannot equip it. The item must be repaired first"

Repairing costs gold, and stronger items are more expensive to repair. "Stronger" meaning higher defense or damage. The equipment of a level 50 Mage will be cheaper to repair than that of a lvl 40 knight.

Durability

Quality

Equipment can be one of seven qualities (in ascending order):

 1. Defective
 2. Worn
 3. Common
 4. Enhanced
 5. Superior
 6. Great
 7. Master

The quality of a piece of equipment cannot be improved through repair; it is an innate attribute of the item. The item's quality can impart a penalty (worn or lower) or bonus (enhanched or higher) during use.

an item may have penalties or bonuses depending on the quality and the item material of the weapon

Item Bonuses

Some items, such as the example pictures, have a bonus added to them. The bonus may be +Health, +Mana, +Stats e.g. Constitution / Dexterity, +Attack speed, +Casting speed, +Damage (for weapons) and +Damage resistance e.g. +2% Slashing resist. These can be gained from killing mobs, or trading with players.
