Clans are formalized groups of players. They don't get any special advantages, only a clan name, a clan rank each, and a clan chat window. Joining a clan is highly recommended for beginners as other clan members can provide a lot of very useful information and/or items. There are no general specifications for joining clans, but players usually create their own requirements, and sometimes whole conduct codes.
Creation
In order to create a clan one first needs a party of 8 players, level 15 or higher. The party leader has to speak with the Clan Notary of the realm's capital city and pay the fee of 2,000,000 gold. In that moment the party leader becomes the clan leader and all the other players, clan members.
Clan Controls
The clan leader gets the following clan controls:
- Remove a player from the clan.
- Change rank names.
- Change ranks of members.
- Allow new members into the clan.
- Change the clan name.
By giving other members higher ranks, the leader can share the powers of allowing new members and removing members.
Clan Rankings
The Regnum Online website has a clan ranking chart of the best players and clans:
- Horus heroic clan ranking (English/International)
- Ra heroic clan ranking (Spanish/International)
- Muspell heroic clan ranking (German)
- Niflheim heroic clan ranking (German)
- Tyr heroic clan ranking (Netherland)

Clan Alliances
Sometimes it happens when clans form an alliance with each other, a merge of sorts. Usually an alliance involves one of these things:
- Open acces to a clan bank (if there is one)
- Protection/teaming up of clans in the War Zone
- Monetary support between the clans
Among other things.
Clan Councils
Councils are alliances between several clans of a realm. They do not share private aspects, like banking, but are rather estrateic planning in several matters. Their aim is to promote coordination of war strategies in their respective realms.

Clan "Banks"
Many clans will volunteer a member to be a "bank holder", or person who makes an account with a character(s) that's only purpose is to hold and distribute weapons and money, usually only between the clan. A clan bank usually stays in the same area due in part to the low run speed because of the item's weight. Clan banks usually consist of:
- Clan funds/money
- Magnanite stashes
- Weapons and armor
Among other things.
