Despite the name Energy "Borrow", this power steals mana from an enemy. The amount of mana stolen is the appropriate percentage of their '''full''' mana pool. Notes
Despite the name Energy "Borrow", this power steals mana from an enemy. The amount of mana stolen is the appropriate percentage of their full mana pool. So for example if an archer is currently at 800 out of 1400 mana, and a mage casts level 4 Energy Borrow on them, they will steal 350 (25% of 1400) mana and add it to their own reserve.
However, only enough mana to fill the mage's own pool will ever be taken, so for example if the mage is currently at 1600 out of 1800 mana, only 200 mana will be stolen.
It can be recognized as mana flowing downwards the enemy and upwards the mage (Opposite animation of Synergy Bond).
If this skill is used on a Guard Captain, the mage can steal an impressive amount of mana, most times enough to completely replenish his supply.
PvE: As it Drains a fixed % of the targets manapool it's most usefull aginst Leader type mobs that have a large pool of mana. In some cases this can be equal to half or more of the Warlock's mana pool.
Game history
In version 1.0.7 of the game the amount of mana stolen was changed from fixed values to percentages of the target's mana. This is because it was felt that at high levels, an unfair amount of mana could be stolen from the classes with less of it, archers and particularly warriors.[1] This has left warlocks with less mana, making them increase the level they use on this spell, and/or increase the level/usage of Sadistic Servants or Ambitious Sacrifice.
Documented changes
- Version 1.0.7 (2009/7/20): Changed amount drained from fixed amount to percentage of target's total mana pool.
